Mr. Beard, Principal of Aegis, is responsible for strategic planning and overseeing shareholder interests. With over 30 years of experience in audit, management, and lending, he founded Aegis Business Credit and Aileron Companies to expand financial product offerings. Since 1998, these companies have financed over $1.5 billion through factoring, asset-based lending, and mortgage lending.
Mr. Beard holds degrees in Accounting and Finance with a minor in Economics from Florida State University. He is a Certified Public Accountant and possesses a Series 27 license.

As Managing Director and COO at Aegis, Mr. Mitchell oversees the Aegis funds, including Aegis Business Credit, Aegis Real Estate Capital, and Aegis Venture Fund. He is a key member of the Investment and Credit Committees and the executive team, leading asset origination, underwriting, credit policy, operational guidance, and portfolio management.
With over 35 years in banking and financial services, Mr. Mitchell specializes in asset-based, structured, and cash flow lending, having negotiated with CEOs and CFOs of companies with revenues up to $100 million. He has held senior executive roles at Woodforest National Bank, Crestmark Bank (now Pathward Financial), Action Capital Corporation, Dominion Business Finance, and First Union National Bank (now Wells Fargo).
Active in industry associations, he serves on the board of the Association for Corporate Growth and participates in the Secured Finance Network and the Turnaround Management Association. Mr. Mitchell earned a degree in Economics and International Affairs from Florida State University.
Mr. Fussell manages overall business operations at Aegis, including asset originations, portfolio oversight, and credit policy. He guides credit facility structuring for middle-market companies and maintains relationships with capital providers. As Chair of the Credit Committee, he directs new business opportunities and supports growth, acquisitions, turnarounds, and working capital needs.
With over 15 years in finance, Mr. Fussell has held senior roles at RBC, PNC, and Wells Fargo, specializing in relationship management, underwriting, and asset resolution. He graduated from Wake Forest University’s Calloway School of Business and Accountancy.

As Senior Credit Officer at Aegis, Mr. Allinson oversees credit decisions and portfolio management for the Aegis funds, including Aegis Business Credit, Aegis Real Estate Capital, and Aegis Venture Fund. He is a key member of the Investment and Credit Committees, leads the underwriting and credit team, and manages credit policies. Reporting directly to the COO and CRO, he also serves as a liaison to Aegis capital providers.
With over 15 years in banking and financial services, Mr. Allinson specializes in asset-based, structured, and cash flow lending. His experience includes negotiating financing for companies with revenues up to $100 million and roles at Woodforest National Bank, SunTrust Bank (now Truist), and Synovus Bank.
Active in industry associations, he serves on the board of the Association for Corporate Growth and participates in the Secured Finance Network and Turnaround Management Association. Mr. Allinson holds a degree in Economics and Finance from Mercer University.
Ms. Wilhelm oversees back office operations at Aegis, managing client interactions, cash disbursements, and collections. With over 35 years of diverse industry experience, including over 20 years in finance management, she ensures efficient operational processes. Ms. Wilhelm holds a degree in Criminology from Florida State University.
